    After the country got independence in 1947 and with the formation of Madhya Pradesh state on 01.11.1956, West Nimar district came into existence. Accordingly, due to political effectiveness in West Nimar, 1- the headquarters for administrative revenue, police and other government offices was kept at Khargone and 2- for the judicial system, the District Court was established at Mandleshwar and Khargone, Kasrawad, Bhikangaon, Sanawad, Barwah, Maheshwar major city was established and civil courts were also established. District Court Mandleshwar was a part of Mahishmati city located on the banks of Rewa (Narmada). Mandleshwar is situated on the north bank of Ma Narmada. The history of Mandaleshwar is very ancient. Shankaracharya Mandan Mishra’s Shastrarth was held here. Holkar’s army was defeated by the British in the battle of Mahidpur in 1819 and from that time Mandleshwar and many areas around it were captured by the British. From 1819 to 1864 AD, the British Empire returned Holkar State to Mandaleshwar. Mandleshwar was the district headquarters of Holkar State from 1868 to 1907. District Court situated in Mandleshwar The history of Mandleshwar is very ancient, the District Court in Mandleshwar was established in the year 1873, in the year 1873 the judicial system of the state was allotted by the British India Emperor, regarding which the pages of The Indore State Gazetteer 1931 It is mentioned in page number 272 (year 1873), page number 231 (year 1931), page number 530 and page number 631. The court was also run by Queen Mother Ahalya of Holkar State in Mandleshwar. Initially, the District Court in Mandleshwar was held in the Ghudsal of the British rule (presently the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue). After this, approval was given by the Honorable High Court for the construction of a new building of the District Court in Mandleshwar, due to which a grand and magnificent building was constructed in the year 1977, which was inaugurated by the then Chief Justice, Honorable Shri Justice Shivdayal Ji Srivastava. Completed on 23 April 1977. Apart from the District Court building, a large area is available as a campus, where a garden and other arrangements are located. Apart from the District Court building, District Consumer Forum, ADR Centre, Family Court buildings and additional premises are also situated.
